The newere vans have a bolt on support brace and bracket which is removed and not re-used, and there's a sheetmetal "blister" welded to the toe kick/firewall on the newer vans which must also be removed so the clutch pedal can touch the toe kick/floorboard. You will need to drill out some spotwelds to get both brackets off the donor and recipient vans, and I recall making a few small welds when installing the older bracket in my '95. I did need to add the bracket which supports the clutch pedal, but that an be found on any pre-'90 van IIRC. I swapped a T-5 into my '95 Astro, using an '86 trans, bellhousing, etc. It can be done, but it's slightly more than a bolt on job.
